However they put me on metformin 500mg for PCOS if i dont  take  it  i  dont  get  my  periods  for  2  months.  they  say  prolonged  use  of metformin gives u memory loss. I have been using it for 4yrs. please advice.is it better to take medicine as i have already 2 kids or just miss my period which is better.

Answer:

Since you have thyroid and pcod, if you are overweight  try  to Loose  weight.  Your  pcod  will  be  sorted  out.  Otherwise Metformin  is  safest  choice  for  you.  Leaving  periods  for  2  to  3 months is not advisable. So my dear it is advisable to get periods each month. Reducing your body mass index by loosing weight is a good option.
